Would you be interested in a 40k meets Star Wars Short story?
Yes, why not, there are some common elements.
No, they are completely different universes that are fundamentally incompatible
This needs to be elaborated more before I draw an opinion.

One day i was listening to some of the Star Wars Episode 1 soundtrack, and all of a sudden i imagined a fight between Obi-Wan Kenobi and a Raven Guard Librarian. I all of a sudden wanted to write a short story about such a battle, but i know that 40k and SW are two completely different universes, but oh the potential! I had to think of how to make such story plausible, so i made 2 important generalizations:

Force-wielder=close to/are psykers
Baically they use their mind to manipulate the world around them using telekinetic, telepathic, and divination abilities, right up the alley of a 40k psyker. Also, power corrupts, and the Jedi warn against using certain force powers that are "supposedly evil" as they can corrupt the user, leading down the path to the dark side. Other than the lack of the warp, this sounds a lot like the path to turning to Chaos (also, does the term "Force Weapon" resemble something?).

Star Wars Weapons=Some 40k Weapons
Examples would be lightsabers being like power swords, blasters being like lasguns, and clone/Stormtrooper armor being like Flak armor (only star wars covers more). Also the disruption field of a power weapon would be capable of deflecting a lightsaber or similar type weapon (like the lightsaber-pike from Force Unleashed 1).

Some of these may be stretches, but I think i could do something cool, and if it doesn't work, you can go ahead sig me to death, as well as treat me like Matt fething Ward.

Some blasters are plasma based weapons, such as the Clone Trooper DC-15 series. So a mass produced, non exploding, infantry plasma rifle would be a devastating weapon. Additionally, Star Wars has a major mobility advantage over 40k with the use of Hyperspace. They can travel across the entire galaxy in days without demonic incursions.

Some things to keep in mind if you do this crossover.

Think of something clever to say.

I am planning to write a short story a brief engagement between a small displaced Raven Guard detachment after being skipped into another dimension by the Storm of the Emperor's Wrath, and hovering over Naboo during the Federation invasion.

I was making the blaster-lasgun connection after watching Revenge of the Sith and seeing Blaster bolts interact with the clone armor and exposed clothes and flesh seem to have more of ann effect on flesh akin to a lasgun bolt. I could be utterly fooled, and I'm willing to change my generalizations. My lightsaber=power sword generalization is along the lines of the Aegis-Sollex energy blade, which from the fluff just screams 40k lightsaber, and is mentioned in the same category as the standard power weapons. Also i don't plan on the setting moving much at all out of the Naboo system, due to my lacking knowledge of the day-to-day occurrences during warp travel, or just warp travel time-periods in general.
