Well, I've been floating around for a few months, and have been posting for a couple weeks, but have never actually introduced myself
I have never gotten into model gaming hardcore, but have always had models here and there over the years. I slowly built up quite the collection of Space Marines, painting up like Salamanders (though I didn't know they were all black at first so all the snipers are white and so is one of the Commanders.......my black friends LOVE seeing that on the shelf). I also have a decent amount of High Elves, as I bought the Mega Army box when the White Lion Chariot was first released. Never, Ever, Ever get rid of the White Lion Chariot GW. I will keep some Elves around as long as I can field a few of those on the table!!
I've been familiar with most of the games out there, but have taken a 3-year or so hiatus from gaming and have really gotten back into it.
All my brothers, brother-in-laws, and a nephew have all gotten dreadball recently as something we can do when we bump into each. Simple rules, low cost to get 2-4 complete teams put together, and they have enough variety coming down the pike this year, we'll be able to have a unique blend of we bring to the table, so very excited about that.
There is a gaming void that I feel I have always been missing though.........Mordhiem. Now I'm not saying the game Mordhiem exactly. But ever since I got a box set when I was a teen that I was never actually able to really play in depth, I have been wanting to get into a campaign style skirmish game of some sort. What kind of options are on the market right now, with fun and competitive rules, have a good variety of teams, and great equipment/character options within those teams. I prefer axe and arrow over guns and missles, but I'd give the sci-fi stuff a gander.
