One of the annoying things about the set up of the 15mm figs for me is once you've glued the figs to their bases, you have to build up the bases with some form of material to hide the hockey pucks on the bottoms of the 15mm figs.

The newish starter for FoW uses bases with sunken holes, so you no longer need to build up material on bases. Yea! I've also discovered an impressive array of companies that produce really cool scenic bases. Yea!!

My problem is a fair number of my Germans are laying prone shooting and loading machine guns. So every other base would still require that annoying buildup of material. Has anyone come across a solution for this? Besides snipping the hockey puck off?

Thanks!

On further research, I found some rubble bases at BF that I could use.

Are there any other companies producing bases like that?

With plain bases I find it much easier to place a layer of filler on the base and then press the miniatures into that whilst still wet. That covers the miniatures base and gives a relatively even surface for your material of choice.
