Something's been bothering me since they updated the Malifaux web page. If you read through the Ten Thunders page, you see that there was a minor rift in the Three Kingdoms area which they used to enter the world of Malifaux and make their way to the city. How big is the world where Malifaux is located? Is it a geographic doppleganger of Earth? Is it a different world altogether? Or is it just a faux world like D&D's demiplane of dread?

I ask because it seems odd that they'd cross over in China or Japan, build a ship to cross an ocean in a parallel world, land on the west coast of a foreign continent, and travel overland (crossing mountains) at least 1000 miles just to infiltrate Malifaux. Are there no soulstones near the Asian rift? Or anywhere along the trip? Were there no Neverborn between that rift and Malifaux? It just seems like a lot of work for very little payoff.

I'll do some digging if I can, but I sadly think that's going to be something that will "hopefully" be revealed in Through the Breach.

From what I understood of it, it was kind of like the Nether in Minecraft (or the City of Doors in DnD). You step through a breach on Earth, and come out in the significantly smaller land of Malifaux, but I don't know and would have to go back and read the fluff.

I think they're supposed to be similarly sized planets, but nothing says that there are exact parallels where breaches occur.

It's pretty clear that very little of the world of Malifaux has been explored: You're talking probably under 500 mile diameter from the main breach. Furthermore, much of the rest of the world is decimated.

There's also nothing to suggest that the geography is analogous.
