Well, I have finally broken down and joined into the Warmahordes phenomenon.

about two weeks ago I bought the Retribution Starter box, and Aspis Light Myrmidon and a Mage hunter Assassin. Right now, that is all I've got. I have had the chance to play 3 games so far since I got them, and am 1 and 2. I'm going to use this post to chronicle game I get to play with them and how they do.

My first two games were against similar Khador lists. both used the butcher for their caster and some super armored heavy with sheilds on both arms and the sheild wall rule. I lost both of those games. Inexperience, misplays, and lack of a good "canopener" for their superheavy jack were my downfall.

My next game was against a guy playing Legion of Everblight. He had a Shredder, Angelius, Ravager, shepherd and denegra as a caster. It was a very good game with lots of back and forth action. It could have gone either way, but I managed to pull out a win. At the end it was down to my caster and the Aspis versus his caster and very injured Angelus. Had i not killed denegra when I did, I was probably toast the next turn. It was good.

Ha ha... well, there are some more forces on the way to add to what I will be able to field. Ordered a Mage Hunter Strike force, another mage hunter assassin and a Ghost Sniper... should make the next game (once they come in) interesting...

If you are picking up the strike force, their unit attachment multiplies their effectiveness by...well, a conservative estimate would put it at about a thousand. Definitely worth picking up.

which one? The commander or the Souless escort? I have looked into getting both...

The commander. Phantom seeker and AD on those guys is great

Well, I've picked up a few more things (MHSF with commander, Eyriss, Nayl and Narn along with a second MH assassin) and played a couple of games today against one of the Legion players at Big Robot (Local store.) As one might guess, it was somewhat rough going for me simply b/c half of his units completely ignored one of my major advantages (stealth) C'est la vive... record is 1-4 now

Yeah ret lists can struggle with hordes sometimes, a lot of their tricks work better on warmachine armies.

Yeah, i have noticed that, but thats ok... just got to adapt and adjust . Anyhow, Its always fun to play, even when its not easy.

Well, Today I got in a game versus the Trollbloods. It was 50 pts, and I ran garreth. It was a kind of odd match, with a ton of infantry and only a few jacks/beasts per side. The battle pretty much waged both ways, with each side doing a good bit of damage to the other. There was an assasincation attempt at the very end by the Troll player, and it did not work, though it did hurt. Ultimately it came dow to basically a draw. His low MAT overall versus my relativly high Def lead to him having a difficulty hitting my guys, which definitly saved my bacon from being smashed.

He had one unit that was able to run 14 with pathfinder on one turn and got all up in my face turn 2 (which i did not expect)
