I have never even considered a tournament before and just play casually with friends. I collect Dark angels and Space wolves but don't like the Allies of convenience issues that come with them. If i attended a tournament with Wolves as my main force can i use my Dark angels with the blood angels codex? All models would be WYSIWYG apart from the paint scheme? Thanks a million for any help

All that matters is that your opponent can recognize the equipment on each model. If you have WYSIWYG you are good.

I personally would not care, as long as they were WYSIWYG. Marines are marines.

Some people might, though.

The Seraphs of Thunder: a homebrew, almost entirely converted successor Deathwing. And also some Orks. And whatever else I have lying around.

So. Cal

in a casual game, I would have no problem with this. in a tourney, it'll be hit or miss. the issue is that it can be confusing (I see deathwing terminators and think they're fearless i and make decisions forgetting that they're blood angel terminators and not fearless) and can affect the game.

to avoid all this, I'd just go borrow someone else's red marines and play with them.

As long as they are wysiwyg and you explain what's going on with a way to differentiate them your all set. Unless the TO days otherwise it's on your opponent to ask questions and whatnot. I have run space wolves with my vanilla marines before and made sure that my opponent knew what was what by having them be different colors to my main detachment. Even though they were not space wolves colors.

As long as you state that they're counts as Blood Angels you should be alright.

2000+ pts Dark Angels
1500pts Death Korps of Krieg
1000 pts Night Lords

You can't spell Imperium of Man without X-treme

Or you could do what I do. I come up with my own paint scheme. That way there are no preconceptions about what my army should be.

I run a black Scheme with Liche purple (or whatever they renamed it to).

My Avatar is about how it comes out.
