So my FLGS has taken a liking to Blood Bowl recently. There is a human player, a chaos dwarf player, a dwarf player, and a skaven player that I can remember off the top of my head. With so many different teams to choose from I wanted to avoid redundancy, so I picked a team that no one else would dare pick: Goblins. After three test games against humans, humans, and chaos dwarves, I am looking for some new ideas. The first game I played was rife with newbie mistakes, I set up poorly when I kicked off on two occasions and gobbos are not very forgiving. Here are some ideas I've cooked up and some general strategies I have come up with.
I have two trolls, a fanatic (F), a looney (L), a bombadier (B), 11 gobbos (X), and a pogoer (P). Blank spaces are noted by an o (o).
The roster:
gobbos x11
troll x2
looney
fanatic
pogoer
bombadier
reroll x2 (or one reroll, one cheerleader, and one bribe)
Receiving formation:
o o o o o X T G F X o o o o o
o o X o o o o o T o X o X o o
o o o o X o o o o o o o o o o
o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o
o o o o o o o P o o o o o o o
The pogo grabs the ball and makes for the line, like he is going to run through/ jump over a gap. The rearmost gobbo moves next to the rear troll in the same turn. The pogo then hands off the ball to the gobbo next to the troll, who throws him over the line. Hopefully the overlapping tackle zones keep people from disrupting the throw and I only fail on a roll of a one. Then the gobbo with the ball, having not activated, makes a break for it, using rerolls as needed to land, go for it etc.
Any critique or ideas? I plan to update this thread with pics, battle reports, etc.
