I just got hold of a flames of war Panzergrenadier HQ.

I've instantly hit a snag...I haven't got a clue how to paint them. I've searched on the net, but all I find are either Grenadier or SS panzergrenadier tutorials...neither of which are right for what I want.

Another problem is that I've never painted ANYTHING so small XD

So to summarize, can anybody help me??

Thanks in advance,

I don't believe there was a difference in uniforms between Grenadiers and panzer grenadiers. They're just mobile Heer infantry. SS panzer grenadiers had specific camo but the grenadiers wore what they could get (especially late war). In North Africa Grenadiers wore American, British, and Italian uniforms...anything they could salvage/scavenge.

To break it up and specify panzer grenadiers you may wanna try to pick out models with the baggy smocks and give them camo to make them seem more 'elite' then foot sloggers.

Its tough at first to shift from 28mm to 15 mm. You dont need as much detail...maybe a dark base color, the final color, wash it and do highlights in the final color again. Then when done drybrush everything with a grey or bone color.

Ah, so all the tutorials I ignored were right?

*sigh* Oh well, now to write up a list ofthe paints I need to buy and find a cheap airbrush for the tanks etc! XD

There are some tutorials about painting camo on 15mm w/ out an airbrush.

I've found one I really like, but I prefer the softer edges from an airbrush, plus it's another skill I'd love to learn

Somewhere in south-central England.

Anyone who tries to paint 15mm to the detail of 28mm is missing the point and will go mad or blind pretty quickly.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Oh I don't intend to. I'll ignore eyes and other details, but highlights and insignia's will be *attempted*
