The GameFAQs board is dead, so I thought I'd bring this up here. I seem to be missing some abilities in Dawn of War Soulstorm with the Imperial Guard. The general doesn't have strafing run, and the Marauder bombers have no bombs.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Actual advice: Reinstall?

Did you try deleting System 32?

Run the installation again and tell it to repair.And if that doesn't work it might be a bug.
Did you patch the game? If so, try and reinstal and use a less frequent patch.

I already uninstalled and reinstalled it again. I discovered that to get the strafing run, I needed to build an infantry command (I was playing Assassination and therefore had the General without an infantry command), but the Marauders are still lacking bombs.

Is this the first time you've played it? If not, then when did you discover the missing bombs?
Have you tried building and researching absolutely everything?

I was running a mod, I didn't like it, so I got rid of it. This is the only thing I can think of that might have caused this problem, but I only deleted the mod folder and module, nothing else.

I've had the game since Christmas 2008, and I've had bombs since until I just tried using marauder bombers now.

I have, still no luck.

Were the bombs there before the mod? If yes, did you have disappearing bombs before you deleted the mod files, or after?

Did the mod itself come with an uninstall.exe?

It might be that some aspect of the mod is managing to tamper (although I don't know of any mods that remove the Marauder's bombing runs) with the Soulstorm files, but isn't affected by reinstalling.

You could try uninstalling and then searching for any remnants, which you might have to manually delete.

Alternatively, unless the mod came with a .exe file, you could try redownloading it just to see what files it comes with, then delete it and search your computer for any that match.

Well I hadn't touched the Marauders for a long time, but it's only after using this mod that I've noticed the bombs missing. The mod was called 'Might of the Emperor', but it was only usable by taking a folder for the mod materials and a module file and putting them in the Soulstorm main folder, then activating it with the game manager in the game. As far as I'm aware, neither would alter any of the regular material in the Soulstorm folder. I just tried putting the mod back in the game and using Marauders in the mod, and they don't have bombs in that either.

I'm not sure what else could have caused it, then, unless you mod yourself.

The only way of fixing it would be to use Corsix's mod studio to first check that the bombing runs are still there, and second to make sure all the proper values have been input etc.

I've never been much of a modder, and looking at my own game files I can understand why (it's because it all looks really tediously complex), but I've found the Marauder and Bombing Runs and everything looks to be how I assume it works, so I'd be pretty confident in saying "that shoulder work", but not "I'll fiddle with it if it doesn't".

Most of the modders there are pretty well-versed in everything, and they can probably give you at least a guide to checking the files yourself, if not a fix, and their knowledge means they can be more thorough with questions.

I've finally fixed it. What I did was, I went into my Soulstorm folder and deleted everything. I uninstalled the game then reinstalled it, which seems to have put it back to its factory settings, except I got to keep all my custom badges, banners, and army schemes. Now my Marauders have bombs.
