After some of GW's stupidity, I got fed up with them and started switching over to Vallejo paints. I find I like them and they work well, but I'm not a big fan of the bottles. I do, however, have old GW ones that I've kept and cleaned out for mixing paints and such. Since I'm mostly replacing GW colours as I run out I can easily enough clean out the containers and put the Vallejo paint in, and I'm sure I can find empty pots if the hundred plus ones I've got aren't enough.

Is this likely to cause any problems? I cant see why it wouldn't, but I've noticed Vallejo paints seem to need a bit more mixing and shaking to get them working and don't feel like wasting a tube of paint if I don't have to.

Girl painting also moves vallejo to tubs. There are purchasable tubs similar (but better) to GW ones if you need more. Yes it'll be fine to move them over if they're clean - I've done the same in reverse since I prefer bottles.

As an aside, it's weird to me that people like the tubs, considering I move my GW paints to dropper bottles. To each their own.

Habit, I suspect. I've been painting from the GW tubs since I was 13 - almost 17 years. I can use the dropper bottles and a pallet, but I always squeeze way too much out and feel bad about it.

And I always end up pulling too much from a pot.

I really hated the paint crust you get in GW pots. Around the rim, in the lid seals, dropped into the pot itself helping the rest of your pot cure faster... So, just completed transferring 17 years worth of Citadel paint into 15 ml dropper bottles. It took around 100 bottles, a small funnel and half a tea ball used as a mesh catch to keep any cured pieces from getting into the bottles and hosing the dropper tip. The latest pot design has the nice transparent labels that peel off and re-adhere to the dropper bottles quite well.
