Hi again people i posted this question somewhere else but didn't get any response so thought I'd ask here as well. I'm currently still working on my Leman Russ conversion but due to finger being sliced open can't actually 'do' anything atm so have been looking for the parts in the meantime. I wanted wider tracks and was going to remove the side armour and have exposed bogie/suspension but keep getting stuck with track options. Someone somewhere else mentioned using 1/35th scale workable track sets so i had a look around and found these on ebay...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111042502565?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111015687376?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

The only problem is there are no dimensions listed and i wanted something wider than the vanilla track, ideally around the 20mm mark. It also doesn't mention overall length per side once assembled and I'll be making the track slightly longer to match the extra length on the mars hull so wanted to make sure there was enough.

Any help would be appreciated as always.

Jay.

I have seen these kits. They are amazing, but a pain in the ass to put together.. You get roughly 650 mm of track on each side and there about a inch wide if my memory serves me correct..

btw you could always contact the seller about the dimensions..

Hi thanks, i had read somewhere that the length was around that but wanted to check, also which one was around an inch wide as i get the impression they're different sizes being as the tanks that they're designed for are totally different (M4a3 sherman and M1)?

Ps. i had contacted the seller but no reply so far and i wouldn't expect him to start opening the boxes to check for me.

Ahh fair enough though I'd of thought they'd sell pretty well?

Which do you think would look better out of those then T66 or T156 (assuming the width turns out to be ok and not huge or tiny lol)?

I would go for the t156 track.. Seeing this will be a russ I think that would look a lot better than the other..

The demegraphics in the area that the shop I work at is mainly car model guys the military stuff don't sell well.. :( even though its a lot cooler..

I wasn't sure i like them but the whole 'feel' is going to be very stripped down desert orientated so i thought the older looking T66's would suite it better, but I'm a nightmare when it comes to decisions anyway. :(

lol.. one thing to remember.. You will building individual track pieces one by one.. It will take a little while to build the tracks.. I could see the T66 being used, but both are good sets..

Yeah i gathered as much but that won't be anytime soon anyway as i can't even bend my middle finger atm.. I'll just go by the width's i think and the closest to 20mm wins lol.

Hello, here's a link to 1/35 M1 track, it looks about an inch wide. There should be about 80 per side in the kit. The Sherman track will be smaller.

Hope this helps, Martin

Still got no reply from the seller and those ones actually look slightly less than an inch assuming that guy doesn't have hulk sized fingers...
