I received some Dark Eldar vehicles in a recent trade and they have been undercoated with a glossy green enamel, which the previous owner told me was Testors. I've soaked them for about a week in LA's Totally Awesome to no effect. The stuff is on there like you wouldn't believe.
Does anyone have any experience with removing this stuff or have any other ideas? I would really like to use these vehicles...

I've tried almost everything on the same problem and have little to show for it. The only thing I've found that touches it at all is non-acetone nail polish remover... But you'll destroy whatever it is that you're scrubbing with and most likely end up with a big sticky mess, a partially stripped model and hatred in your heart.

That's horrible news. That means that trade was at a loss.

Easy Off and Super Clean will remove enamels. They are fairly safe to work with and are neutralized with water (which allows for disposal down the drain). If the paint is thick, it can take Super Clean 24-48 hours to work, though Easy Off tends to work in an hour or so.
DOT3 brake fluid is also an excellent stripper, but it presents disposal issues and needs to be handled through proper waste streams.

I've had moderate results with Easy-Off and it will melt some plastics. Purple Power, Simple Green might work, (never worked for me) if you soak them for weeks and weeks.

You might try a product from Testors called ELO - Easy Lift Off. It is labeled as a Floquil product (which is owned by Testors), the stock number is 542143. If your local hobby/game store stocks Testors they should be able to get this stuff. It is sold by all the major hobby distributors (Great Planes, Horizon Hobby, Stevens, etc... I do not know if the big gaming distributors carry it, however).
