So, what I'm wanting to do is see if there's any way to get that bright, vibrant Crimson red that's used on Word Bearer's over existing black paint / primer without doing a ton of steps. I'm getting back in, and firing up my Dark Eldar, which are partially painted. The models are all either primed black or the armor is a near black, with blue highlights. (Between that armor, and the black leather, it just is way too dark) I'm trying to avoid stripping the models and re-priming them if I can. I've yet to see anything that strips off a good primer, and I really don't want to strip down 1400 points of DE anyways.

Any help out there?

If you're not wanting to have a lot of coats of paint then you're best bet is probably to just prime in gray or white. Though it doesn't hurt to do a test run with black!

I'd rather try to put down a layer of Astronomicon than to reprime. This way I've only lost the work on the armor, and I don't lose the work I've done. I was just trying to avoid another step.
