Oh herro prease!
Im Neil. i have been painting warhammer 40k since i was about 7 or 8 and at the time i lived in england where there was literally a games workshop in just about every town. At 13 i moved to florida. Upon moving i looked around for a couple of years to find a games workshop and i didn't find anything. I searched from center, to bottom then top and didnt see a single one. I was extremely upset and then gave up on ever seeing another GW. I ordered a few bits and bobs offline to keep myself going but it became too much of a hassle to continue so i ended up just letting go.
Fast forward and i am now 24 and i moved up to Jacksonville (NORTH Florida. almost Georga) got an apartment and all the rest of it. One night me and the girl friend where driving down the road to get pizza and that's when i saw it. Like a glowing beacon of beautiful blinding light i saw out the corner of my eye the resplendent, unmistakable red and yellow sign and let out a roar of happiness, loud enough that if there where anyone sitting outside that particular GW they would have heard me going down the street. Needless to say as soon as we where done eating i was in the games workshop. Feelings of nostalgia and childhood wonderment rushed to me and i was instantly 12 again. I couldn't help myself, running to all the display cases to see finely and painstakingly painted miniatures on display hoping to get recognized, beautiful armys laid out in regiments and clumps in gloriously colored armor standing proud for everyone to see. Oh yes my friend, i was home indeed.
A week later i recived my tax returns and the moment it cleared in the bank i rushed off to my local GW (literally 2 minutes from my apartment) and spent almost $400 on just anythign i could get my hands on. things i wanted so very badly as a kid but could never talk my mother into buying, now lay in my arms waiting to be painted. it was too good to be true. all the boxes on the shelves lept out to me. the signature blue boarder with the 40k badge in the upper left. All the memory's of a brilliant past almost brought me to my knees in happiness. I left with dreadnaughts, elite troops, paints, glues, alll sorts of things.
Now in celebration of my renewed hope for my favorite hobby and past time i have entered to be in my local "Armys on Parade." I will be sure to post up a build and paint thread when im done. THank you everyone for reading! -Neil Stevens (Blood angels - Blood drinkers)
