So I just bought the Tau model Shadowsun. She is one of my favorite 40k models, and i finally thought I was at least sub par at painting to pick her up and have a go at it.... well the white is trickier than i anticipated. In general I am really struggling with getting her armor white and keeping the dark areas more defined. What i did was prime her white, noil oil wash then i began going around the recesses with white (like any power armor) but i am really struggling with this and could use some pointers!! please and thank you to all of you lovely folk's tips

The key to painting white is to not paint white. Prime with Celetra Grey. Wash with a very thin The Fang. Net up Ulthuan Grey (will probably take a few coats) and then do the edges with White Scar.
For the lines I use a black Micron .005 pen to get it really bold.

Hahaha that was something I was considering is very light grey ( I have a lot from space wolve painting) thank you this is helpful a lot. So edge highlighting it with white scar sounds interesting.
