I have made some "count-as" Thunderhammer guys for a DA Command Squad using the club/mace weapon from the Ravenwing kit.

While I don't use that particular weapon anywhere else in my army (to avoid confusion), I would like them to look more "thunderhammery". Maybe some electrical or glowing effect.

Here is a quick and dirty phone snapshot of what we are talking about;

Any advice/suggestions from Dakka?

Thank you for the advice.

How would you suggest I paint it? Cool (dark blue) at the hilt and warm (white) at the end?

Maybe if you painted lightning crackling over the surface? That'd get the 'thunder' part across nicely

How to paint Skeletons the way I do if that's something you'd fancy trying.

If you have patience you could also make each little bump glowing. So like you could start off with midnight blue, then use ultra blue, then Ice blue, the. White/iceB, then pure white on the very tips. It could be done using no other techniques but dry brushing. It would be pretty quick too, you just have to be careful to build it up properly.
