I was searching for LED lighting kits and found this website. The products are designed to light up Lego kits, but they should work in vehicles and terrain.

You can also check out poweredplay gaming, of course. They just today restarted their kick-starter, and it is already funded, so it's all wine and roses from here. Wow these seem more price appropriate then the powerplay gaming lights, i can afford these sweet. You can even see they have the same kind of plug and play that powerplay is advertiseing.
