What sort of aesthetic are you looking for? Sci-fi can go in a lot of directions in that respect.

Go to you tube an look around. They have several do it yourself projects that are a lot cheaper than buying the pre made stuff. Another good do it yourself web site is miniwargaming.com. If you are needing the pre made stuff try eBay, amazon stuff like that. Also the Mantic website they have some new stuff coming out thats not to bad price wise.

Hey ids, I'm currently making a 6x4 sci fi urban table. I've bought some of the MAS stuff from http://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/, and it's awesome, there's a picture on page 3 of my blog thread (Link in signature), more detailed ones to come soon.
I'm currently waiting for delivery of some kit from http://www.waylandgames.co.uk/ who carry a large range from different manufacturers.
I ordered the Dust Tactics building , The Syberclicks set and the Pegasus Hobbies Hexagon set.
Once I have received it all and put it together I'll be putting up some pictures in my blog thread, along with my opinion on the quality.

I'm a big fan of the mantic stuff, wonder if I ca talk.rhe club into a pledge!
Now to find 4 x 4 gaming mats in the uk!
