Hello!

After seeking to get out of playing 40K, I've stumbled into FoW and purchased the Open Fire starter set.
I'm now completely enjoying FoW more than I have any other game, but I have some questions regarding the books...

First. I'm interested in building forces that fought through Normandy after the D-Day landings, specifically British troops. I cannot seem to find what 3rd edition book, if any, includes those Intelligence briefings. Any tips?

Second, I've noticed that Battlefront doesn't seem to make a big difference between 2nd and 3rd edition books. Can the two sets of Intelligence Briefings be used interchangeably? Will 2nd edition lists be accepted at tournaments?

Thank you for helping me here...

First of all, welcome to FOW! I'm a recent convert from 40k myself.

For British troops that fought in France, the book you want is Turning Tide but I would hold off on purchasing it because it's being redone and re-released on June 6th under a new title: 'Overlord.'

As to your 2nd question, you can still use 2E Late War books but a lot of units cost more points, or at least this is my understanding, than they do in the current 3E books.

Yep, and it's good to remember than BF doesn't invalidate books very often. You can use pretty much any older books, but they will just be weaker against a 3rd edition enemy
