I bought a tamiya color, XF-18 Medium Blue and it is VERY thin. I can airbrush the paint but it's impossible to get a good finish with brush. Any advice how to paint with Tamiya?

I've found Tamiya paints fine myself. Did you stir it well?

It's not exactly a brand known for bad quality and is widely used by military modellers.

Most people will tell you to thin your paints.

The Tamiya line is alcohol based and pigments tend to settle at the bottom. If you have a stick or the back of your brush (or if you have lots of money and feel like spending some on a paint stir-or) , getting down in there and stirring it up should help a great deal.

Hope that helps.

I third the notion of stirring Tamiya paints. Shaking them never seemed to be enough. I still feel they need a little thinning even after that, but your mileage may vary.

Just a handful...
