Greetings all,

first post after long time of just reading and its finally a question.. sorry about that.
But i face a problem that i cant find a solution for.. tried diffrent forums and no one could help so maybe someone here...:-)
I saw a , in my oppinion, fantastic looking Riptide on Cmon, in fact its this one

http://www.coolminiornot.com/330184?browseid=5444692

i tried diffrent ways with my airbrush to copy this style , but no matter how hard i tried.. couldnt find a solution to get this brown/khaki/dirty white look.
Anyone got suggestions what colours were used on the body and on the weapon?base, highlight, shadow...?
I have all GW and all Vallejo model colour air available here,im also in my oppionion an average brusher so that shouldnt be much of a problem.

Thanks very much for your help and please excuse my bad english:-(

Looks like the person used a good amount of oil wash on it. I could only guess at what they used.

I'd recommend asking him on coolmini, they have a forum and you can send IM's.

Hope that helps if even just a little.

Looks like they started with a khaki or a light tan, but its airbrushed so you get the gradation of color concentrations. It also looks like the photo was color corrected for shadows so it may not be a true representation.

Primed white, then wash away. Looks like he used a spraygun with bleached bone/white mixes, then washed with nuln oil and delvian mud. After he was done painting, he weathered it with powders.
