I currently live in a small city called Emmaus, not terribly far from the outskirts of Allentown in Pennsylvania, wondering if there are any hobby shops and/or places where regular meet-ups for Warhammer 40k take place.

I used to be from that area, and the Hobbytown above was one spot, and the other was Portal Comics and Gaming in Nazareth (or was it Bethlehem?). Unsure of the current 40k scene at those spots though.

Portal is open still too, it's a pity I just got back into 40k a few months ago I find all these stores, then I move out of state haha

The 40k scene in the Lehigh Valley these days has dropped dramatically since the onset of Warmachine/Hordes and Games' Workshop's pricing overhaul/ending of tournament support. The only places I'm aware of that have 40k activity in the Greater Lehigh Valley are Hobbytown USA on Saturdays from 3/4 until close, The Portal Comics & Gaming in Bethlehem, on Wednesday evenings, and Dragon Head Gaming (at the Merchant Square Mall) in lower Allentown. Dragon Head has players there on a day I don't quit remember at the moment. You'll have to go in and talk with the owner.

Of the three locations I listed, Hobbytown USA is the only one with a large group of players who show up on a fairly regular basis.
The Portal feels more like a gaming shop, IMO, and has a great atmosphere and selection of available models, given its limited space. People tend to be very friendly there, as well.
Dragon Head Gaming has a lot of space and great tables/terrain, and I'm sure there's a number of players there.

If you're willing to take a drive, it might be worth checking out Stomping Grounds Games and Hobbies (their site) down in Warminster/Horsham. This is where I've done most of my tabletop gaming overall; everyone's very friendly and approachable (and I have a natural timidness that makes me unable to speak to people when I get nervous. I can usually speak freely here). Unfortunately, it is a good hour or so drive from here.

Someone really needs to set up a Facebook group for the Greater Lehigh Valley for 40k players. There's one for Warmachine & Hordes. It would make us setting up games together a lot easier.
