Subject: What Program did you use to help Run your Tournament?

Hey
Ive been a TO for a few years now and always having trouble with the programs I use to Manage games and the scoring system.
Usually use Geopp (german program that all of Ireland uses)
Its a good program but very simple and alot of tedious stuff to do sort out stuff.
Tried using Tournament Overlord at my recent Tournament that I ran:
It was good because it had lots of features like adding grudge matches and different types of awards.
But the simple things like categorising players due to particular scores was confusing and annoying. also the layout was
a bit gak, and the clock is pointless it was to small ( I usually have it projected and it just looks tiny lol).
So Im organising a Tournament at the end of june and would like a good program for scoring, Any Ideas?
Im willing to spend money as long as its worth its cost(unlike TO £30 and it was totally not worth it).

I just used excel for my last tournament.
It was a small (18 player) one, though.
Easy enough to sort by club or arrange R1 grudges or sort by scores, etc if you know what you are doing.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.
That is not dead which can eternal lie ...
... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

For the tournaments I'm involved in running in the UK (GT, Ribble Rumble, War of the Roses etc.) I use an Excel spreadsheet that I designed one night (as I work with Excel on a daily basis in my job so I'm quite proficient in vlookups etc to make it do what I want).
I find with the way I've set it up I can basically manipulate the draw to however I want, change to whatever scoring system I need tournament from tournament, include as many people as I need (if i ever run a tournament > 65k I'll have an issue lol)), show what I want on a round by round basis and most importantly, enable me to manipulate the draw as much as I want each round to avoid previous opponents (as I built in a check for that) and segregate people if I'm running a split tournament.
The only issue is I need to manually dump each round score and sort it in another sheet which is a bit clunky at times.
You can probably do something similar with other programs but I'm a control freak and can use Excel so figured it'd work better for me personally.

A good excel spreadsheet is the most reliable way to run things. TOrganizer has some issues. QCR used it and had a major disaster with pairings happen. West Coast used it, knowing its bugs, and were able to get along just fine, though they did have one guy dedicated to nothing but running the scoring.

I've had poor experiences with both Geop (kept insisting on matching previous opponents, could be user error though since much of it is in German) and tournament overlord (can't handle 2nd day drops, was continously matching same club members against each other).
Went back to my own personal Excell sheet. It can be tedious to use at times but it won't crash and is quite flexible with everything that can be thrown at you as a TO (drops, byes, etc).

Any other program except Excel?
I mean I know how to you excel and I know some of the vlookups for it, but I dont know that much to do all the things I need for the tournament.
Unless somebody is willing to send me there excel document of it all set up lol.

I'm hearing through the NOVA Open grape vine that there's about to be a 40K specific system tournament management system. I found this to be quite hysterical as I was having the same idea less than a year ago but I think I'll wait and see what Torrent of Fire provides first. If it does what I was thinking about doing then I'll look for something else to keep me busy
