I have my eyes on the howdah that comes with the Lord of the Rings Great Beast of Gorgoroth model for a conversion, but it will be for a 40K model and it would be important to have the size and scale correct before I shell out the cash for the kit. Would anyone who has this model please let me know the dimensions of the howdah? Alternatively, if anyone uses a gridded mat when they assemble their models, I found this image that could provide an estimate for the howdah size, but I wouldn't know the size of the grid. Any help is appreciated!

Does anyone know if each small box on a mat like this is 1 cm? That would help me figure out the dimensions.
