June 22nd @ Redcap's Corner
1,200 Pt. HQ-Focused Warhammer 40,000 Tournament

Location: Redcap's Corner, 3617 Lancaster Ave., First Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19104.
Schedule: 11:00AM store opening, 11:45AM round one pairings posted so people can begin setting up their armies, 12:00PM-3:00PM first round, 3:15PM-6:15PM second round, 6:30PM-7:15PM dinner break, 7:30PM-10:30PM final round.
Cost: $10/player, advance registration is possible in-person.

Army Composition: 1,200 pts./player using the following modified force organization chart: HQ 1+, troop 0-6, elite 0-3, fast attack 0-3, heavy support 0-3, with a maximum of 600 points spent on HQs and a maximum of 600 points spent on non-HQs. Only HQs can score or contest objectives in this tournament. Fortifications are not allowed, but allies are. The force organization chart for allies is HQ 1+, troop 0-2, elite 0-1, fast attack 0-1, heavy support 0-1 and your combined primary and secondary detachments must adhere to the maximum points requirements of the format (maximum 600 pts. HQ and 600 pts. non-HQ).
Rounds: Three rounds, each consisting of two and a half hours of game play, with fifteen minutes per team additional time for deployment.
Models: Models need not be painted, and conversions are totally fine (Forge World, third party, scratch-built, whatever), but proxies are not allowed. If you have questions about whether a model would count as a conversion or a proxy, email us or stop by and ask us. Essentially, you need to make sure your models are equipped and portrayed in a clear and obvious way, but we want your army to look every bit as cool as you want it to!
Scoring: Crushing victories are worth 6 points, victories are worth 5, draws are worth 3, losses are worth 1, and crushed results are worth 0 points. Bonus points are added to these totals. Placement is based on record first (wins vs. losses) and points second.
Requirements: You are required to bring an official physical copy of the codex for your army (and for any allied army you’re using) or an iPad with the official iPad version of your codex. Additionally, you are required to bring five printed copies of your army list with you. This is one for you, one for the store, and one for each of your opponents. Finally, you’re required to bring any dice, templates, or markers you might need to facilitate piloting of your army.
Special: There are a few supplemental sources of rules that are allowed (mostly Forge World), and those can be found listed here, by codex. Many units have various versions of rules, spread out amongst a variety of sources. Each book noted under your codex will list which units from the book are valid for this tournament, along with what PDFs update them (if any). As with your codex, you’re required to bring an official physical copy of the book that contains the relevant rules for your unit, with a print out of any relevant PDF update pages. If the unit in question is only available via PDF, then a print-out of the appropriate pages will suffice. Fortifications must be placed on the table somewhere they fit comfortably. We'll try to leave at least one space on every table where any type of fortification could fit.

Prizes: Store credit toward purchases at Redcap's Corner, based on tournament attendance, will be awarded to top finishers. This store credit can be used on anything in-store (even future events), and can be used on special orders placed with us, so even if we have nothing in-stock that you're after, you can make requests and we'll do our best to fill them.

Round 1
Mission: The players each take turns placing a single Primary Objective marker worth 2 Victory Points in their own deployment zone. One Primary Objective marker worth 5 Victory Points is then placed in the direct center of the board. Before deploying their forces, players should first roll for their Warlord traits (pg.111). The player who deployed his or her army first, goes first unless his or her opponent can Seize the Initiative (pg.122). This mission uses Variable Game Length (pg.122). Secondary Objectives are Slay the Warlord, First Blood, and Linebreaker (pg.122), and Night Fighting and Reserves special rules (pg.124) are in effect.
Deployment: Dawn of War (pg.119) modified for a 4'x4' table.
Bonus Points: 1 bonus point if each of your non-HQ units is above half strength at the end of the game, 1 bonus point if your opponent has no non-HQs left on the table at the end of the game.
