Subject: Deathwatch Kill Team question

I am making a Deathwatch Kill Team to go as Allies for my Sisters. The HQ I will usually go with is a Librarian. Do they keep the Blue Armor of go all black like the rest of the Deathwatch, save for their 1 Chapter shoulder pad?
thanks

My guess is they're black armor with blue spot color.

In the Deathwatch novel its not mentioned that the main character (librarian) retains a blue spot. Just that one shoulder pad retains his chapter markings. It would make sense with the infiltrating role they sometimes use, the one splash of colour is the marking, but giving it more colour just increases your chance of being seen. Also iirc they are given a suit of armour on arrival instead of taking their own, so the blue spot isnt necessary as the deathwatch isnt something that uses the Codex Astartes.

The Codex itself is also optional. It is tradition for Librarians to have blue armor. Nothing prevents a chapter from changing it.

If it's of any help, the Index Astartes article makes it sound as if they go black like the rest of their Deathwatch brethren - or at least it does not hint at Librarians being any different as far as this detail is concerned.

Those do look cool. Might be one of the few cases where I could see myself recommending to take FFG's ideas over GW fluff.
