So here is my first real stab at painting my Necron HQs.

I know my camera is awful. All I have is my phone.

First, we have a generic Cryptek that I put in for whatever Harbinger I'm using. This is my original color scheme, a blue/silver Tesla theme.

And My new Color Scheme! My new Army scheme has some fluff.

When the Necron's were at the height of their power, their was one among them who in his mortal life had reveled in his world's sheer abundance of gems, minerals and precious metals. In his new metal form, he commanded his people to have their bodies coated in gold, silver and jade, to flaunt the grand wealth of his world to all other Lords! The other Lords, harboring an ancient grudge, sabotaged the maintenance systems of his world as they went into their sleep. Thus, while they were kept alive, their once lustrous and splendid bodies would be left unwashed, unclean and un-cared for. When they awoke, this lord found his people's bodies degraded by the sheer passage of time and the natural forces, their once beautiful bodies were tarnished and worn, rust and decay clawing at their every movement. Driven mad by the loss of his wealth and the poor management of his great sleep, the Lord renamed his people "The Great Rust" and have set out on a mad quest of vengeance, until all other Necrons are as rusted, decayed and shambling as the hordes of the Rusted King.

Nemesor Zandrekh, "The Rusted King"

Vargard Obyron, "Fist of Decay"

Overlord Tekrat "Harbinger of the Great Dissolve" (WiP, needs alot more work!)

Lord Chiiss, "The Rust-Forger"

Is Lord Chiis finecast by any chance?

Indeed. e was horribly warped when I got him. Took a lot of glue to fix and at that point I was too arsed to finish his staff, so I'm painting it to be made of warped necron spines with a skull end cap.

I've also found that the 'roughness' of the rather awful finecast material also helps to give my HQs that slightly dingy, weathered appearance that really sells the whole 'rust' idea for me.
