Hello,
I have recently purchased a few models from Warlords bolt action range, whilst looking through the internet the other day i came across The plastic solider company, i noticed they also have a range of 28mm Russians, I was wondering if anyone on here happened to own, or have seen the two ranges side by side. I just want to know if the two different models would be roughly the same size as with some manufactures it does vary a little bit, i'm not concerned to much if they are slightly different, just as long as they aren't too far apart. If any one has a picture comparison i would really appreciate it.

thanks

Lewis

It's hard to tell from that picture. I think they'll mix alright, but you might find that the detail isn't as deep on the PSC miniatures as on the Warlord ones. They're far more in the style of traditional toy soldiers. They're still good, but you might be frustrated painting them if you do a lot of highlighting, feathering or wet blending. With simple techniques like washing, they're fine.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

Thanks for the reply, on most of the other forums i found discussing them they said the detail wasn't quite as good as the warlord models so your right on that one, i just plan on getting a box or two to bulk out a Russian army, I'm still relatively new to painting so i'm sticking with simple techniques for the time being.

I find they mix alright, not the best but they look fine from a table top perspective. The detail will be much weaker on the PSC models, but the price is also better. And in a Russian army, PSC is good to bulk it up a bit. If painted right they'll be A-OK

As said, the detail on the PSC models is a lot less than that of BA.

They're -very- soft looking, detail wise, if you're getting the 28mm soldier box.

The heavy weapons and AT guns/howitzers boxes though are a lot sharper on detail.
