I was wondering if someone heard anything about tournaments in Pittsburgh PA

Club Snake Eyes regularly runs tournaments at Legions Hobbies there and they have a blog site, http://snakeyesgaming.blogspot.com/ - shoot Warboss Gubbinz or Deathwolf here on Dakka a PM.

Last month was Fantasy and FoW, and we just had a 1500 point 40K singles last weekend, and have a flames event this weekend, and a 40K team tournament next month on the 13th.

There is a 1250 one this weekend at Legions. Check their website for details (Legions Gaming).

There is another one in July I believe and one in Johnstown in late August.

I had no idea there was any 40k in the Johnstown area, would have been nice when I was going to Pitt Johnstown.

Legions usually runs alright events, you can also check out the valt out in Greensburg. Never heard of toy solder gallery, but I havent played 40k out there since I graduated from college.

There was always gaming in Johnstown, problem is it went more underground after the only store in the area with gaming tables went belly up(The old ThunderDome in Windber). Toy soldier gallery has been right off the roundabout in Ligonier for years but has no in store gaming area. Currently we have use of the Public Library Community room in Ligonier 1 or 2 saturdays a month for events, and use of the YMCA at other times.
But I've been trying to get gaming to be more in the open in Johnstown again, and the weekend before Adepticon this year I helped Snake Eyes run a gaming event in the Cambria Room of the Student Union at UPJ at the request of the local gaming group. Had 30+ in attendance, and raised around $200 for Doctors without borders and several totes of non perishable foods for the local foodbank with th help of the UPJ gaming club. And that was with short notice.
Will hopefully help run it again after school picks back up too if they want.
But turnouts of 48 for a doubles event in Ligonier, 59 for one at Legions, and 30+ at UPJ is what prompted us to shoot for setting up a larger event in Johnstown, so the Blood City Brawl was born. Come check it out, its just down the hill from your old school and the weekend before school starts again for the year so campus should be rockin. Wanted to hold it at the Armory in Richland and donate to the wounded warriors, but costs were too high, so we found a good firehall (5400+ sq feet) that wasn't too highly priced and are hoping to get enough volunteers out of the gaming crowd so we can get the Red Cross to come in and make it a true "BLOOD" city.
