So, the rules for Spec Ops state that you can use any basic troop for your Spec Ops individual. But then it provides a table which lists only troops from the Campaign Book.

Does this mean that these are the only legal starting points for a Spec Ops individual?

Also, it does not clarify if this miniature can be a Lieutenant, a model which frequently does not have weapons beyond the basic troop statline.

Sorry if these questions have been answered before. I also felt this would be a better place to get an answer, as opposed to the heated discussion arena that is YMDC.

Mods, please feel free to move if I was mistaken.

Thanks!

It says somewhere that it has to be the base model and cannot have special abilities beyond what the base model has... ie cannot be LT.

ie for Ariadna you Spec Ops can be a Line Kazak w/ Rifle, Metro w/ Rifle or a Volunteer w/ Rifle.

For Haqq it can be Ghulam w/ Rifle, Light shotgun, Hafza w/ Rifle Light Shotgun or Muyibs, no sure what the loadout on the muyib would be though because they all have something 'special' AI by Aleph army builder tells me that it is the version with the panzerfaust

I dont have my rulebook infront be me at the moment so I can't give you a page number

Thank you.

Unfortunately, right after that, there is a table that lists specific units. My question is if the table limits the choices to what is contained in the table, or if that table just lists the units in the Paradiso book that are eligible to be Spec Ops.

I'm pretty sure it is limited to that. From memory it mentions Line Kazaks, Metors and Volunteers and those units are Vanilla and Human Sphere

I will crack open the book, and cross-reference.

Thank you!

Nice.

For future reference, Nerm86 was correct, the table DOES list the only Spec-Ops-Legal miniatures. Which is sad for Aleph.
