Hey everyone,
I have a question. Not sure if this is the right section, if it's not please move it (sorry in advance).
I have never sold painted models before and was wondering how to calculate what they are worth.

This model costs around 65 euro for the war Mumak, and 11,50 for the Mahud to buy.
So what is it worth? It's completely magnetized as you will see in the pictures .

Thanks alot!

2 of the thumbnails do not work, but the link to the picture does work .

First off, Welcome to Dakka.

I'm not really sure what to charge for the model. Is it part of a game system or just a pretty miniature?

I would recommend you look on eBay and see what simular models are selling for and go from there. Also you could bring it to the local game store and see how they would price it. You never know, they might even put it in the shop as a consignment piece.

Good luck.

Thank you for your reply .

It's part of the not-so-popular War of the rings game (lord of the rings). Since I modified it I'm not 100% sure how it plays out, since I don't play the game, I just paint .
I might actually take you up on your advice and go to one of the bigger GW stores .

I'm sorry to say that it's likely not to fetch very much more than the model without a much better paintjob. Most buyers are going to be interested in making it match their color schemes, so if it's not top notch and in a popular scheme already, your market is just people who plan to strip it and repaint.

Even a really well painted model has a harder time finding a buyer if it doesn't match a popular color scheme.

It's the original color scheme, so anyone who likes the movies should like these colors .

And I think its well above average, but I guess that most people that sell are far above average .
If it only sells for cost price than I'll just keep it , Im happy with the paintjob so I'd rather keep it and let someone try to paint it themselves than to sell it too low.

But thats for this model: I guess in the future (my new painting is alot better than this) I should see if someone wants me to paint something? And then agree on a price?

What is a normal commision price for regular models (such as space marines or something)?

I mean, I could be wrong. Sometimes pictures don't convey the model properly. Maybe you could get some better pictures of it and I might change my assessment.

I certainly feel like my models look awful in photos, so I wouldn't be shocked if the pictures were hurting it.

The commission price for a big piece like that tends to start around 30USD plus model.

I orderd a photobooth from ebay and some decent lights. So I'll try to make a better picture when it arives!

I agree that some parts of the picture are so much zoomed in that it actually doesnt do the model right (with the normal eye you would not see some of the details you see on these pictures, not my eyes atleast)
