Lord Trazyn, it is with some trepidation that I receive your gracious missives, as our kinds have not often seen eye to eye. However, the inclusion of such a token of appreciation fills my heart with joy. Though my own collection is surely paltry compared to your own vast museum, it is only through works such as ours that our species can continue to thrive and grow. We are, after all, firmly rooted in the past. In the interests of furthering both our purposes, I send with this message an envoy, whom I would appreciate if you would permit to live. She is a rare treasure, but as yet an unrefined one.

A nascent archivist such as ourselves, she is my protégé, and – if you would grant but this one, small request – perhaps your own. She has a quick wit, and her memory is unusually perfect for an unenhanced human. She is also a fair negotiator, and it is my belief that she will be an asset to your operations as much as she has been to mine. In the interests of achieving a continuing spirit of cooperation, I have also included a small device recently liberated from the Ork. It appears to function as a primitive form of incendiary, however I have no doubt that containing it is well within your capabilities.

My dear Valeria, it is with great pleasure that I have received your envoy. It truly is wonderful to discover that there are others of our shared interests in this terribly impermanent world. Ereshkigal is simply a delight to teach, although she was rather put out to discover that emerging from our wormhole devices is wont to destabilise the gift you had her carry so close to her heart. Fortunately, I was quick enough to prevent that section of the complex from imminent incineration, but really, I must insist that in the future you are more careful.

In the spirit of our continued cooperation towards recording history and gathering such priceless trinkets, I have included with this scroll a phial of a rare pathogen that originates from your very own homeworld. In their ignorance, it seems that sadly your ancestors eradicated this disease near the dawn of your civilisation. It is a precious gift, as while I can simply direct my workers to manufacture further samples that is one of the original flasks I gathered so long ago. The stasis mechanism is very delicate, so please, dear lady, try not to drop it.

My dear friend, it pleases me greatly that you find my offerings so satisfactory. I have recently come into possession of an account of the first recorded meeting of our two peoples, and have appended a copy accordingly. It is an interesting read, as I am sure you will agree. Please pass my gratitude for her continued loyalty on to dear Ereshkigal, for while I do not regret sending her to you, I do find myself regretting her absence. It is with a heavy heart that I receive news of her resentment, and I hope that we can move past this small disagreement.

In return for your generous sample, I return a token of my own. It is a cunning device created by a techpriestess under my influence that I believe you will find to your interest. By mixing it with certain isotopes known to the Imperium, she has discovered a method to destabilise the living metal that your warriors and vehicles are crafted from. Indeed, it is my belief that too large a concentration of the admixture in a concentrated location may prove even more volatile than unpolluted francium. You are, of course, significantly better situated to continue experiments with such a compound than I, and I look forward to hearing of your findings.

Your last gift has left Trazyn rather inconsolable, as it destroyed four of his surrogate bodies before he worked out how to seal the compound in a magnetic bottle without the bottle being dissolved. Mistress, I implore you – while I am learning much here, please, call me back. I grow more fearful for my life with each passing day, and that is without the risk that the Archeovist will lash out and transform me into an exhibit! I forgive you for the bomb, I see now it was only a part of the game you are playing with the Infinite, if only you will allow me to return to your side!

I have attached a file regarding my progress in penetrating the architecture of the records here, but I'm afraid that not much of the luck has been mine. Trazyn, however, is becoming obsessed with you. He paces, muttering and twitching, and I am certain that many of his thoughts are of you. He is planning something unusual for his next scroll. I only hope that you survive it. Be most wary, Mistress. I beg you, please consider my request!
