Has anyone had any strange or ironic accidents or events happen while painting? I'll give a couple examples:

Last weekend I was mixing Thraka Green and Agrax Earthshade for the shading on my Nurgle Terminators. Just as I started shading a small fruit gnat flies right into to the mix and drowns. Taking it as a sign from chaos of course I finished shading without removing the insect. Tiny pieces of a living being are literally mixed into my Terminator's armor as befits a follower of Nurgle.

Second example:

Just a few minutes ago I was painting my new Avatar of the Bloody Handed God. I had the armor painted orange, the weapon and loincloth still primer white. I pick up the bottle of Bloodletter glaze to shake it up and add a little shading to the recesses and the lid is not attached. While shaking the bottle the Bloodletter goes EVERYWHERE, staining my hands and shirt but most notably leaving the sword and loincloth speckled in what looks like real blood. It was amazing.

Anyone else got any crazy and/or interesting happenings while painting?

Dropped a bottle of grey paint once, got it on my ceiling. It landed right on its base, and the paint shot straight up 2.5-3 metres.

This happened to someone else, not me. If you're not a fan of personal injury, don't read on.

Spoiler:
Back in '94-'95 I used to go paint at the local hobby shop with a bunch of other Warhammer players. For some reason they were big on a product called Zip Kicker that would instantly dry super glue (as if it doesn't dry fast enough). We were all sharing stories about how we glued things, or ourselves...or ourselves to things...but one guy's story beat them all. It was summer, so he was painting with his shirt off and accidentally got glue on his hand. He went to rub his chest and ended up gluing his hand to his chest. In his infinite wisdom, he reasoned that if he took his x-acto knife, he could get it between the skin and seperate the two. He ended up cutting off a portion of the skin on his chest, including his nipple. No lie - he showed us the scar.

So yeah, we were all pretty careful with the super glue after that.

Hahaha. These are great.

For me the strangest thing that happened was drunken khador painting. A few years ago when I was just starting warmachine, I got pissed drunk. I had assembled and primed my army warlier that week, but never gotten around to painting it. I don't remember much of the night, but when I woke up the next morning, all 500 points of khador were painted. It wasn't the best quality mind you, but it was done.

I have not been the person I was since I stopped being him.

I have glued my hand to my forehead and misc pieces to misc body parts. I use BSI instant glue, so a 3 second bond time lets me glue all kinds of fun things together.

Zip Kicker is really dangerous stuff. It is also the only way I can get the metal Thunderfire Cannons and Eldar Harlequin Troupe Master to stay together. So far I've been careful enough not to get it stuck on anything.
