If you want the zonds or the sputnik (they are all remotes), you'll probably need a hacker to go with them (it's a pre-requisite to have either a hacker OR a TAG in order to TAKE remotes in your list.)

Is there any particular direction of models from the nomad line that attracts you otherwise?
You will need orders, as well - so some support infantry.

If you're just using the hacker to get remotes, a cheaper one might be better. Making the alguacile a hacker, the hellcat hacker a regular one, and adding an alguacile sniper puts you right at 3 | 150. Which is also the size of a small game. So, using your list, it would be

NOMADS
──────────────────────────────────────────────────

GROUP 1 7 0 0

ALGUACIL Hacker (Hacking Device) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 22)
ALGUACIL Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (10)
SECURITATE Lieutenant Combi Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (23)
HELLCAT Combi Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (24)
ZERO Combi Rifle, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (18)
METEOR ZOND Combi Rifle / Electric Pulse. (1 | 29)
ALGUACIL MULTI Sniper Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 24)

3 SWC | 150 Points

Open with Army 4

I think the new Corregidor boxed set is a good start. It doesn't mean you have to just do Corregidor either.

I just bought the Corregidor box, the rocket launcher Hellcat, and a couple Tomcats yesterday (I really liek the look of those models, haha).

I'm going to play my first game today, so I'm sure I'll get an idea of what else I should be getting to add to the army, but I'm also open to Nomad suggestions. Snipers? HMGs? Do you really NEED a hacker/doctor/engineer?

Anyway, I'm excited to learn this new system!

Well, you do NEED them if you want remotes. But they are also good for missions and they have their own other uses as well. Like hacking incoming guided missiles, drop troops, or heavy infantry.
