First, www.forwardkommander.com it will help with formatting lists as you can use the clipboard function to just copy and paste like so:

System: Warmachine
Faction: Four Star Syndicate
Casters: 1/1
Points: 25/25
Magnus the Traitor (*6pts)
* Buccaneer (3pts)
* Mangler (8pts)
Croe's Cutthroats (Croe and 9 Grunts) (10pts)
Steelhead Halberdiers (Leader and 9 Grunts) (6pts)
Stannis Brocker (4pts)

As to the actual list, it's not bad. Halberdiers are a good infantry unit for Magnus, and you have Stannis as well. I have to ask, do you have the Heavy Cav? Even a min unit to back up the Halbs would be great. Croe's are a just bit on the high side points wise for what they do. They're more expensive, but less survivable than Boomhowlers, and it makes no sense, I'd think about dropping them. Being that Magnus is also the only merc caster with access to an arc node, on his personal Renegades, they really should be pretty high on your list for inclusion.

If I was to change it, I'd go for something more like this using pMagnus Most Wanted theme list:

System: Warmachine
Faction: Magnus - Most Wanted
Casters: 1/1
Points: 23/25
Tiers: 2
Magnus the Traitor (*6pts)
* Renegade (5pts)
* Mangler (8pts)
Steelhead Halberdiers (Leader and 9 Grunts) (6pts)
Steelhead Heavy Cavalry (Leader and 2 Grunts) (6pts)
Stannis Brocker (4pts)

For starters, this gives you -1 to the point cost of a Renegade for the Tier 1 bonus. For the tier 2, since you'd have the two Steelhead units, you get advanced move on the Halberdiers. And lastly this list still gives you two points to spare, which is a choice between 4 solos that also work in Most Wanted, Gorman di Wulfe, Saxon Orrik, Kell Bailoch, and Orin Midwinter. I'm personally a big fan of Gorman, but I think the others have a place as well.

So rhupert carvolo doesn't work in that list? He works wonders with the steelheads but im not really into any of the other solos listed besides Gorman.

He's not a theme list choice no. If you like Gorman I'd run with that. Personally I'd prefer Saxon to hand out pathfinder to the Steelheads.
