Found a plastic Balrog hiding at my local scale model shop for nice and cheap. Got him built, and am lamenting the lack of a closed left hand. He needs his lash AND sword to be a proper fire giant inspired Bloodthirster for my Norse Chaos army. Any suggestions for where I can find a suitable fist? Khorne will thank you.

With blood.

Does the appearance of the hand matter? Strapping some sort of mechanic appendage as a replacement could look pretty nice and possibly make a Balrog look more warhammery. Perhaps part of a Defiler or a Dreadnought?

Looks do matter for the most part. I want it to look natural on him, and I like the more bestial nature of the Balrog. I also far prefer the aesthetic of it to that of much of the 40k. I had hoped the Daemon Prince had a closed left hand, but it appears not.

I'd thought of snipping off the fingers, and using GS to make it into a fist, but my skills are severely lacking in that area, and that's a pretty prominent part.
