Hi all,
I'm looking to expand my Black Legion army, but before I do that I want to learn more about them, as they are now, not their history. I have the CSM codex and have read that front to back. I've also read the Black Legion entry in the Lexicanum, which deals mostly with their history. I really want more fluff/background about their structure now. Are there any novels that go into that out there?

Also, am I correct in the interpretation that as a 'chaos undivided' army they can have units with any and all marks? Not all on one unit...I just mean a mix in one force.

Thanks in advance!

Calling them 'Chaos Undivided' is really a shallow term for them. The Black Legion really aren't the 'generic chaos space marine' in the way the Ultramarines are seen as the 'generic space marine'. The Black Legion as it is now is a massive amalgam of thousands of warbands from all manner of legions, fallen chapters, heretek sects, and cults. It's so much more than just chaos Sons of Horus and ADB's new series of books regarding the Black Legion will go into extreme detail about that.
The only one who would even hope to know all of the different warbands and armies that currently make up the Black Legion is Abaddon and even then there are warbands joining/leaving/getting absorbed by other warbands in the same legion constantly.

In short, a subset of the Black Legion (ie. your army) can be made up of absolutely any form or combination of chaos you can think of.

I think that might have confused him. The Black Legion now is a semi-organised force led by Abaddon. They have people who worship all the Chaos Gods, none of them, or just one. As jareddm said, you can you use any of the units in the codex, in any combination without fluff issues because, they recruit any units.
