Hey guys
I'm currently working on my kickstarter campaign for our new board game, finished the pledges and i'm happy with them. Just wondering how you guys feel about early bird? Are you against it, or for it?
For those of you who are not familiar with it, it's basically giving early viewers of your campaign a chance to save a lot of money on pledges for a limited time.
Let me know what you think!

I'm for them. They give the campaign some momentum and reward early backers. There were also a few campaigns where the possibility of early bird slots opening up kept me more interested in the campaign than I might otherwise.
Wyrd tried something like that, but with bonuses for early backers, but I definitely prefer the straight discount: the other model seemed to piss off latecomers.
The only downside is since early bird doesn't lock you in, you might see more dropouts near the end of your campaign, but that means you probably didn't have that strong a product to begin with if that affects you too much.
Good luck!

Early Birds are good for getting people on board early. However, if you miss out on getting one, many people feel there's no point in pledging until the last days, so it's a balance thing...

Thanks guys, we've decided we're not going to give people early birds only reason is it's not fair for the late comers to not benefit from what the early people benefited from plus it will put some people off from pledging

For a smaller campaign, they do not necessarily help- see PDC's kickstarter (just search PDC) or Endless: Fantasy Tactics.
So, I think you made the right call. I'm curious what your game is. Do you have a BGG or KS link?

Looks interesting. One bit of advice - make sure you have a proper proofreader/editor look over all your prose - there's some poor grammar in your writeup.
