Apocalypse at local store has some interesting store rules...
this weekend we are having an apocalypse game..
Only things aloud are vehicles, monstrous creatures, Super heavies and garagantuan creatures

To cut down on time they dont want people bringing tonnes of infantry and taking forever to move, also there will be time limits
That being said... they said that if you have enough troops to fill a formation then thats badass and you can bring it...

points work like this..
Monstrous creatures and vehicles are 2 points each
Super heavies and gargantuan creatures are 5 points each
infantry squads are .5 points each

Everyone is limited to 15 points

This is going to be my first time using some of my new models so this is what I plan on bringing

1 transendant C'tan
I want to kit him with (I dont have the book infront of me so I dont know the names...)
the hellstorm template attack that is Strength D
The Heavy 6D6 S8 AP3 attack
and the rule that allows him to move 18" and everything he moves over takes a Strength D hit

I think this will be most effective since the game with be almost entirely MC's and vehicles

Also I am going to take the Necron Obelisk

and finally im going to bring my Riptide and a Dreadknight just to fill some points

Thats 14 points
C'tan
Obelisk
dreadknight
riptide

Let me know what you think,
If you have any experience with the Necron models please let me know how they did.. I can kit the C'tan any way I want and he will still just count for 5 points

Sounds fun. Make sure you have the ion accelerator on the riptide and all the fun upgrades too!

1. Go to FLGS on a 40K game night.
2. Announce to no one in particular "I have over 10,000 points of Space Marines".
3. Sit back and watch as some 30-ish Neckbeard who still lives with his parents not only disputes your claim, but goes on to describe his 30,000 points of Blood Angels and how he has been playing since Rogue Trader days... And yet you will have never seen him either play 40K or that army.
4. From here, you have several options. Continue the conversation, or just end it. Either way, I guarantee you will waste 1+ hour of your life talking to this guy. Have fun!

yeah,
I have a friend entering with a 2 riptides so we are going to make a formation, should be fun
If we get a few stormravens show up we might be able to get the dreadknight w/ 3 stormravens formation too

C'tan was....
I dunno.. Will have to play again with him
In apocalypse he is very squishy, 6 wounds is way too easy to kill him, 1 strength D ended up killing him
On the other hand, if he gets close his is devastating
I stripped 7 HP off a warhound with the 6D6 S8 shots
Rolled lots of 6's
The S D template also took out lots of tanks
