I'm looking to take a list to a 35 point tourney which includes an arcangel, can anyone help me write one?

What kind of event? SR? Tooth and claw? Deathclock/Timed turns?

There are a few casters that can make good use out of the AA, but pThagrosh tends to stand above the rest simply because he can feat it back if it dies. Problem is he is very sad to see Purification casters (which are very popular) and also RFP can take his feat out of the equation. Another issue for me, is the AA can only hit ARM 20 vs. range, which is not always enough.

Abby has all the same issues IMO but can get the AA up to DEF 14 which is interesting, but generally not enough to save it from a didcated assault.

eThagrosh can get it up to ARM 22 with a Carni and upkeep spell which can help screen him and the Carni which is a lot to chew through for a 35 pt list. eThags has to help close the game himself in the games I've played.

What casters were you thinking of?

Couldn't you tack on an extra +1 DEF/ +1 ARM from the shredder's animus? That way you could tack just a wee bit more defense and armor on top of what you get from Carni and eThags.

Don't forget spiny also damages jacks and beasts. A damaged one may lose an aspect/system trying to kill it.

Anyway, I think 35 is too low of points for the angel. It puts a real strain on your fury. So if you put more beasts in, you won't have enough points for fury management, a buffer unit, or anti-jam models.

You can only have one animus up at a time, so its either Spiny Growth or Tenacity... Generally DEF 12 is not enough. I'd rather push it into the ARM 22 range which makes it very resillient against most shooting and is tough to take down in melee without dedicating more than one heavy, then you feat and they have to do it again lol.

In the mean time you use the Carni and eThags as your counter punch.

I do agree that at 35 pts a gargantuan is hard to fit in, but it can be a skew that some lists are not going to be able to handle.

Totally forgot about animus stacking being a no-no.
