Subject: New to Dark Eldar 1500 Haemonculus list

I am thinking about trading my Tyranid army in for some Dark Eldar. I like the idea of running a Haemonculus list and this is what I am thinking of.
Please let me know if this would work at all or if I am way off base here.
HQ:
Haemonculus w/Liquifier Gun -60
Haemonculus w/Liquifier Gun -60
Troops:
5x Wracks w/Liquifier Gun, Acothyst w/Scissorhand, Venom w/2x Splinter Cannons -150
5x Wracks w/Liquifier Gun, Acothyst w/Scissorhand, Venom w/2x Splinter Cannons -150
5x Wracks w/Liquifier Gun, Acothyst w/Scissorhand, Venom w/2x Splinter Cannons -150
Elites:
4x Grotesques w/Liquifier Gun, Aberration w/Venom Blade, Raider w/Flicker Field -235
4x Grotesques w/Liquifier Gun, Aberration w/Venom Blade, Raider w/Flicker Field -235
4x Trueborn w/4x Blasters, Venom w/2x Splinter Cannons -173
Heavy Support:
Cronos Parasite Engine - **
Cronos Parasite Engine - **
Ravager w/Flickerfield, Night Shields -125
=1498
So one Haemonculus will go with each of the Grotesque units to keep them under control. I think everything else is pretty self-explanatory.

I would give your hamey's the scissorhands and drop them from the acothysts. Might be best to drop the acothysts altogether and get night shields on the venoms. The cronos have very little to offer your list as you are already knee deep in pain tokens out of the gate. Also, your squads are meched up meaning that the cronos can't really offer any tokens to anything but itself. With only a short ranged template, it probably wont contribute anything except drawing fire. To stick with the theme, turn em into talos pain engines. Keep the splinter cannon stock on the tail, and TL liquifier on the arm. Makes a nice troop killing unit, and remember it can get power from pain to get a token by finishing a squad, so save the tail splinters till the end of the shooting phase and pick off the last 1-2 models in a squad. The talos draws fire, but can shoot back and is dead lethal at close range. If still, you are dead set on the chronos at least get the large blast upgrade so it can shoot more if it ever makes it close enough to matter Flickerfields may be overkill, as jink does the same thing. Unless your just dead worried about tau or helldrakes.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

All good points. I was thinking about using the Pain Engine, but was unsure about it. I guess it would be a good support unit to add some extra shooting and some higher Str melee attacks. Would your recommend Night Shields instead of the Flicker Fields? Automatically Appended Next Post: So what if we changed it to something like this...

New list is looking good. I always take night shields over flicker fields. On raiders with grots, they are meh as you are getting in close. Good on the venoms with the wracks as they will stay back and dakka poison, only going in for the liquifier kill when needed.
The only place you NEED a flickerfield is your razorwing. Razorwing is a good addition cause it will blast through hordes and offers more AT. However, make sure to silence the quad gun or any other AA your opponent has before it comes on and gets shot down.
I think the best part of this list is just how many liquifiers you have. Every unit except your trueborn has one, and that is certainly nothing to sneeze at.

All good points. Don't be afraid to run your transports and pop all those liquifiers at one unit. then move on the next one. then the next one.....seen this done many time (good friend plays DE) and it can absolutely wreck anything that relies on cover. Also (and someone already mentioned this) if you see a lot of Heldrakes take flickerfields

Thanks for the input guys. I don't really seen any heldrakes at the moment as I am the only CSM player that has one in my local meta. I do see Storm Ravens, vendettas, and soon to see a few Eldar Crimson Hunters.
