Hi all,
I am fairly new to the game and since starting the hobby I am yet to win a game, however i am still enjoying every game i play apart from the fact i go into the game knowing i am more than likely going to loose. The below is the list I am currently running in 1500pt games, feedback would be appreciated and any suggestions to make the force stronger or increase survivability would be great!
Librarian - Psyker Lv.2 w/. PF Generator
10 man tactical squad w/ plasma cannon and plasma gun
10 man tactical squad w/ flamer and missile launcher
5 man DW Terminator squad w/ assault cannon and chain fist
5 man DW knight squad
5 man dev squad (2x Plasma cannon, LC, MM and sergeant)
2 x Typhoon Pattern Landspeeder
1 x Predator w/ TLLC and LC sponsons
1 x Razorback w/ TLLC and Stormbolter
I am thinking about removing the DW Knights (as so far they have proved useless due to the lack of a LR, and I mean useless, they have played in 5 games and done nothing but die in deep strike mishaps or not get into combat as my opponent runs away) as they take up a huge amount of points and replacing them with a further two Typhoons and the Landspeeder Darkshroud for the improved cover saves on the Typhoons.
My dice rolls are also incredibly unlucky (obviously cannot be improved).
I look forward to some feedback

Hi there. And welcome to the rock.
Also a DA player i understand your frustration.
Personally id drop the libby for belial. Make those terms scoring as currently you only jave 2 scoring units.
As a rule i say 1 scoring unit for every 500 points.
So at 1.5k that would give you 3.
Then id put said belial in the unit of knights and deepstrike them in wherever theyre best needed.
This removes the need for a land raider.
What is the flamer doing in a tac squad with a missile? Id drop the flamer for another plasma gun.
I dont see what your achieving with the dev squad personally. Id drop them to make the points for belial. (And then use the plasma cannon to reolace the missile on the tac squad)
Whose the razorback with? Change it for a rhino or a whirlwind.
Then. You should have a few extra points. Buy 3 basic bikers to be your deep strike homer and a speedbump for the knights.
I wouldnt sugest more speeders. A flyswatter can take them out.
Also for your dice rolls?
You cant change them?
Huh. Thats odd..... i always find accute unrationalism helps.
Dice rotation. Dice selfishness (not sharing with your opponent or any other army you may have (mine arw colour coded)) and praying to the dice gods always helps.

I had a dev squad with a prescience Libby and the power that ignores cover. It killed whatever it shot at for 4 turns lol. Also whirlwinds are fun.

Thanks Lordjig that sounds great.
My dev squad have been the most useful in every game I've played taking out two and sometimes three times their points value so I'm reluctant to drop them to be honest. My Libby isn't getting much use so I may drop him like you suggested freeing up about 130 points and including Belial in the army definitely.
Quick question: why would having Belial in a squad with the knights eliminate the need for a Land Raider?

No worries. DA are a strange army to get your head around because theyre very similar to vannilla but slightly off lol.
So having belial in there. Deep strike the knights and with belial they dont scatter  so your eliminating the worry for a misshap and hopefully you can pop them in a place where theyll live and be usefull. Ive had success with my knights.
Fair enough about the devs. May i sugest 4 plasma cannons then?
Im not a huge fan of landspeeders but i know how expensive they are and if you already own the models i wouldnt say to drop. But i prefer whirlwinds.

Why don't they scatter? Because of the teleport homer? I thought that was only when deep striking within 6" of a teleport homer that had been on the table since the start of that turn? Apologies if this is in the codex I don't have it with me at the moment!
Also if I'm getting rid of my Libby HQ Belial will have to be on the table from the word go as he'll be my only HQ correct?

They dont scatter due to belials ability. He makes them not scater.
And no. I dint think so... i dont see why he would have to be.

I wouldn't take Belial if not doing a DW list, point for point there are just better HQ slots and better ways of delivering DW knights (read:LRC).
Dropping Belial with knights isn't a great idea, they still have to stand around for a turn before they can charge. They also have no grenades, so if charging a unit in cover they are nearly the same as standard TH/SS termies, but without str 8 or ap 2. A LRC would help solve both these problems.
However I must say, despite the unit being cool and fluffy, it is very expensive and not overly competitive. Standard terminators are often a better pick.

Okay so a 1500pt revised list:
Belial
DW Squad w/chain fist and assault cannon
DW Knights squad
10 man tac sqd w/ ML and PG
10 man tac sqd w/ MM and PG
Dev sqd w/ 3x PC and 1 x LC
Predator w/ TLLC and LC sponsons
Rhino transport
2 x Typhoon Pattern landspeeders
I think I'll have a few spare points aswell that I can fill with something else perhaps a standard Libby or another Rhino.
Tac sqd w/ MM would go in the rhino to capture and hold objectives, Belial put with the Knights and deep struck, DW terms deep struck on the teleport homer of Belial, dev sqd sitting back and subduing armoured threats, Typhoons knocking out missiles into enemy infantry and the predator firing against enemy tanks.
