I've been cracking on with my stormtalon and am about to attempt washing it, which has got me thinking about the base and stand.

I'm happy with basing but what to do with the stand? Spray it black? Leave it clear? Any other options?

TIA

You'll probably get several different responses on this. Me, I leave 'em (base and stand) clear, cause they're supposed to be invisible. At least, that's how I look at it.

I glue my stands onto a base of the right size and then base over it so it goes with the rest of the army.

I base mine to match the rest of the army.

I've got the same conundrum with a Land Speeder base. I reckon as Ultra Grey and Lady Cassandra say - leave the stem clear to mimic the air in between the model and base, but texturing the base not only, IMHO, looks better and ties into the army, but also makes sense from the point of view that it is the ground it's flying over.

Thanks for the cooments, it was what to do with the stem I was aiming for (although not clear lol). The base will match the rest of my army.
