Hi Guys

Still trying to find a list that I like the look and the sound of, and I think that Bethayne has it for me. Here is what I am thinking of running at 35 points

Bethayne & Belphagor
Scythean
Scythean
Blackfrost Shard
Blighted Nyss Hex Hunters (Leader and 9 Grunts)
Blighted Nyss Sorceress and Hellion
Blighted Nyss Sorceress and Hellion
Spell Martyr

So since the first turn I can essentially run my beasts forwards a little bit extra I decided that I would go the whole hog and include two Scythean's, the fact that I also think that they're the better looking out of the three heavies helps me out here as well.

Spell Martyr as a safety net of sorts

Not a bad list but I'm not sure the Sorc/Hellion do enough work in this list to warrant two of them, especially without the benefit they give to flying beasts since you aren't running any.

I would recommend the following:

B&B +3 (NON-TIER LIST)
Scythean 9
Scythean 9
Shredder 2
Max HexHunters 8
Max Gatorman Posse 9
Spell Martyr 1

Why the Gators?

They are Base DEF 12 ARM 16. ARM 18 while engaged due to unyielding. +1 DEF with Dirge. Add in Bethayne's Ashen Veil and they are a DEF 15 ARM 18 monster vs. living models. Very difficult to deal with and an excellent tarpit to help deliver your Scytheans. If you want to go nutz, you can also add in Tenacity. Both Ashen Veil and Tenacity are friendly so it will work on Minions.

Black Frost Shard: An excellent toolbox crew, but at 35 pts, its hard to justify the cost. At 50 I'd add them in. Bethayne does nothing to help crack armor really, so its important at that level of play. If you are doing an all comers list at 35 and want better armor cracking, I'd recommend pThags instead, but play around with different lists and see what works for you.

Shredder: You should have one ;P

How about I replace the Scythean's with Angelius? I don't want to paint non faction miniatures as I don't get Hobby Points in the Journeyman league for them so It'll be

Bethayne & Belphagor
Angelius
Angelius
Blackfrost Shard
Blighted Nyss Hex Hunters (Leader and 9 Grunts)
Blighted Nyss Sorceress and Hellion
Blighted Nyss Sorceress and Hellion
Spell Martyr

Looks good. I fear you'll have trouble with high armor skew lists, but since its a Journeyman you'll probably be ok. Plus two angels is really good for scenario play. Run into position, and use their animus repulsion to help clear zones and cap points. If you feel its too pillow fisted then switch back to Scytheans or maybe run one of each. If you choose the Scytheans, then to get the pts out of your Sorc/Hellions you'll need to be aggressive with them, use their anti-shooting ability to help deliver your army, and if you can, spray down as much as you can during feat turn.

Her tier is restrictive but generally ok at 50pts, but I'm having trouble making a list at 35 that I like (In or out of Tier I find her difficult). Adding a shredder with your above list is problematic, but tenacity adds so much to the list. Keeping Tier 4 requirements means you can't really crunch on points much more without the list suffering for it, so I don't think there's room for the Shredder :( It makes me a sad panda...

To help your damage output, use the BFS during feat turn for the Hex Hunters. It will be a lot more effective than using it solely for your Angels who do not benefit as much due to their low volume of attacks and focus on one large AP attack. Scytheans love it though. For example, an Angel will get one big AP attack at +2 to hit (Ice Cage) and +2 Dmg (Kiss) making it a P/S 16 AP shot, which really only adds 2 dmg. It buys attacks which are now pow 16 vs 14 which helps, but high arm it won't due much so you'll boost and if you're spending fury for repulsion you'll run out of attacks quickly. Hex hunters on the other hand can all get in range and do a +2 attack, POW 15! Stack a bunch of those with the feat to fully boost and you're leveling a heavy or two, and the Angels with their AP attacks help clean up whats left. Its good times.
