How well does foamboard take paint/spray....i dont want to texture it first...just put the paint on straight away.
My friend can get hard plastic and laser cut it for buildings but this material scratches too easily

Styrofoam? It melts if you use spray paint - so I would say brush paint with water based paints first.

Do you mean the stuff that is foam between two layers of card? If so, not great. I've seen the card delaminate from the foam after being sprayed. If you do want to spray it, I'd take some cheap craft paint and paint everywhere the foam part is exposed before spraying.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

Or use watered down PVA glue on the foam.
Also don't spray too close - if the paint is too wet when it hits the foam board it can cause warping.

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!
