I just started collecting russians and I'm a little overwhelmed. I have 2 boxes of psc infantry and 10 T34s but I'm not sure what i should buy next. I really want to play a hord style infantry army and I really like cossacks but im not sure how to make them viable and what support options to give them. I'll be playing mid/ late but mostly mid. Thanks in advance for any help.

If your going with Hordes of men, you can't go wrong with some artillery. I don't play Russians, but any Infantry heavy lists I build always bring some artillery and they both complement each other nicely. Gives a Great War feel to your Infantry charges

I don't know much about any Soviets lists or Cossacks but there's my little advice

I'm in the process of reworking my Soviet list, a Forward Detachment from Red Bear. My army is mostly T-34s and SMG infantry, I think that having something that can advance, armour without Hen and Chicks, is key in the new rules. I'm waiting for PSC to make some progress with KV or IS tank releases before I put my ideas to the test.

I find that it is difficult to advance, especially against Veteran opponents, with armour that is all T-34s.

You'll need artillery for starters to bombard and pin enemy infantry and gun-teams when you attack or defend.
Even if you use mortars, they're still decent.

You'll also need AT guns like the 45mm obr 1942 guns or the 85mm obr 1939's to help combat enemy armor, especially assaulting armor units. using them in ambush is decent as well.

Having the T-34's is good for Divisional support. However, a better option would be to use Guards Heavy Assault Guns (ISU-122's/152's) which, as George has mentioned, is not affected by the Hen & Chicks rule, so they'll be more effective. You'll need something that will shift the enemy off of an objective when attacking and typically, enemy infantry dug-in is the archetypical unit that will be guarding an objective and is the most difficult to deal with. Using the assault guns gives you the tool to removed them.

So, beyond your infantry horde, you'll need some artillery, AT guns and an offensive line-breaker unit to help carry you on the offensive. Other than this you can fill-in other stuff to taste such as AA or recon.
