Neophyte Undergoing Surgeries

Hey everyone, 23 from Southampton in England. I first got into 40k when i was around 12, but stopped a year or two later as I simply couldn't afford it. I've always kept up with the lore, from my first BL books Trollslayer and First and Only and ever since I've been hooked. In the last year or so i've hated the direction Black Library is headed in with all the short stories, novellas, special editions so I've cut down to buying only a few authors namely Arron Dembski-Bowden, Dan Abnett and Chris Wraight.
However seeing as there's a new SM codex incoming I've decided to start painting/modelling again. I picked up a set of DA from the Dark Vengeance box on eBay and I've just stuck in a big order from Wayland Games for paints and all those other goodies. Once i've painted up the DA i'll probably start an Ultramarines or Red Scorpions force. No idea if i'll actually start wargaming though, think there's a fairly big wargaming club in my area which I might attend as I know no one who still plays!

Good day, welcome!
I agree with you on the direction BL is going. And if I may offer you some advice, I'd check out the gaming club you mentioned. I live in an area in which RC car racing and RC airplanes dominate the hobby industry, along with dirtbikes and 4x4s. I only know one guy who plays and he can be pretty boring to play, to say the least. Cool guy though.
Anyway, enjoy your stay.
