So after trying a 1,500pt army with a RW command squad (and getting destroyed twice) I thought i would go back to the command squad in a land raider crusader for more protection. Here is the 1,500pt list I was thinking of!

Warlord: Sammuel (jetbike)-200pts
---Power armor command squad (x5 vets, x5 bolters, Banner of devastation)-165pts

Elite: Mortis dread (x2 autocannons)-125pts

Troop 1: Ravenwing bike squad (x6 bikers, x2 flamers, melta bombs)-176pts
---Attack bike-45pts

Troop 2: Ravenwing bike squad (x6 bikes, x2 melta)-181pts
---Attack bike-45pts

Troop 3: Ravenwing bike squad (x6 bikes)-161pts

F/A 1: typhoon speeder-75pts

F/A 2: Typhoon speeder-75pts

H/S 1: Land Raider crusader-250pts


(i do feel like i am lacking a little long range fire, but i have a lot of bikes to shoot the hell out of infantry.

Why flamers? the dakka banner is all the anti-infantry you'll ever need. More melta is this answer if you're going to take special weapons.

Flamers because I modeled one squad with two, and they are awesome even with he banner in the background. Roasted many an eldar and necron with those!

I thought the mortis dread was more points than that? did it go down in the recent Apoc update?
Also why make your speeders FA choices and not part of the ravenwing squadron? The only difference is in the Scouring in which case they will be easy kill points for your opponent.

If you are determined to bring flamers; combat squad and outflank. You can roast pathfinders and even Devastators etc; than in the case if the latter (where some would still be alive) assault the remnants and pray you wound on HoW to even the odds. In any case, it's a throwaway unit that can be effective.

Also your dread is only 120 points not 125 drop the speeders add a third ab and change them all to MM

And the only reason i have the ab is to score some other objectives while my side goes around shooting stuff.

I find the land speeders to be worth running
I don't get the difference between the Mortis dread and a regular dread? Would much rather have a Libby on a bike with a pfg than a dread

Yea. only shot down one flyer so far, ironically. killed more than it's worth in points though!
