so, I've only been playing a couple months, but I've had some success at my local hobby shop (primarily due to being the only "Bug" on the block, so nobody knows how to handle me yet). This is the army I've been running with, and would love to hear some critiques. I try to stick around 2k.

HQ

Dakka Flyrant (OA, HC, 2x Biomancy, TS) -320

Tyranid Prime (2x BS, ST, TS) -100

ELITE

3x Hive Guard -150

DoM (Spore) -130

7x Y-stealers -161

TROOPS

7x stealers w/ Broodlord (ST, TS on stealers, ST, TS, implant on Brood) -198

20x horm (AG, TS) -200

10x term -50

Tervigon (AG, 3x biomancy, TS, CC) -235

HEAVY

Dakkafex -190

Trygon Prime w/TS -250

TOTAL COST 1999

I've been using the tyranid Prime as an escort for the HG and fex, and have the broodlord squad as an assassin unit. DoM is to draw fire away from the Flyrant, and Trygon gives the horms a Synapse jump from my deploy to cross the board. I have been mostly using the old StarCraft Zerg tactics of "never retreat, keep pressing," as I've noticed anybody who gets me playing defensively has a tendency to wipe large chunks out.

Like I said, I'm still new, and this is just what I have been using. I have an eventual list that I would like to put together, but I'd love feedback for this one to give me some new tactical choices.

"Chompa, chomp. Pachewy-chewy-chomp"

"Hive Fleet Garuda" 21-3-0

Current Campaign: Planetary conquest (where losing army gets 50pts extra next match) vs CSM (now at 600pts Nid vs 750pts CSM/Daemons)

It isn't terrible. I wouldn't buy anything new I fix it though as we're getting a new book November 2nd.

Rule #1 is Look Cool.

I knew I had heard rumors about the new Codex, but the Nov 2 is an official release? Awesome. I will probably wait until the new book is out to purchase more for the army, but I know that adding a couple more tervs/going with 2x flyrants is probably a better move, albeit more points heavy. Was also thinking of swapping the Y-steals for zoans (more synapse, tank busting, etc...)

this list is and anyone who runs a list like it is dumber than a sack of

no i'm joking.
Irkhalu, i've changed my mind on the warriors. your list is dependent on zergling rush. get en masse troops, dump the hormies, grab more tervinids and just rush everything.
