So I'm struggling to make chaos work. I've played them since 3.5 and man is the new codex tough for competitive play. However, I'm determined to make them work.
Now there's something I've realized which runs contrary to the meta; chosen are great. Yes, I'll stop you there, they are not pointed competitive compared to grey hunters or even tac marines. However, they provided several advantages internally versus other troop choices. First is the across the board ld.9 which, for chaos marines, it huge as the chump champion that must challenge will usually be killed leaving you -1 leadership. Chosen just ignore that being always ld.9. For me, the ubergrit is key as well. However, their hidden gem is the 2A base profile. This gives them 4 attacks on the charge which is more than berserkers. Combine with 4 specials weapons and we have a winner for a perfect all around unit.
So here's what I'm thinking. The main thrust will be kharn and berskers in the landraider. It is a cruise missile to be fired once then likely killed. But it is guaranteed to kill whatever it shoots. This thrust is supported by 20 chosen. The second punch is Abby deep-striking with the termies for a quick second threat that must be dealt with. Let me know what you think.
